I forgot to introduce someone!

Say hello to my new friend.  She's a My Double dress form and a Christmas gift from my mom!  I'm looking forward to many happy hours of sewing together.  This is also a horrible shot of my basement sewing studio. As soon as I figure out how to take photographs in the fluorescent light and without showing off the giant furnace or the cat box, I'll post some real ones!

  1. I just got a dress form too, YEAAAHHHH! :) I am going to pad her out this weekend...using the dials to adjust I don't think is going to cut it. Going to try this tutorial: http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/review/readreview.pl?ID=1013

  2. I had to get creative with the top half of my form, and my guess is that you'll get to be creative with the bottom (when the heck are they going to design forms by body type?). I adjusted the dials to the correct waist, low waist, and hip/tush measurements, then opened the bust dials all the way. I adjusted the underbust and upper bust measurements and then put an old but well-fitting bra on the form and stuffed it with batting to get the rest of the measurements right (bust, apex-to-apex, shoulders, etc.). Still have to make a cover for it so I can pin and drape. That tutorial is great! Good luck!
